Pandora 2020-2021

Miss Jones

Hello and Welcome!

You have found your way to the Pandora class page :)

This year, I'll try to keep the website updated as much as possible with useful links about life in the classroom. I'll also add information about our learning each half term so you can keep up to date with everything we're doing.

General classroom bits and bobs

Independence

We are always looking to improve our skills in Pandora and this year, we would really like to encourage the children to become more independent. We will be providing them with lots of opportunities to practise their organisational skills, and really want to try and support you with helping them to bring these into their everyday life outside of school. I have listed a few ideas below to help you in supporting the children in some simple ways at home:

Putting their own socks and shoes on

Preparing everything they need for bathtime

Washing their own hair

Setting the table for a meal

Preparing their own breakfast

Washing their plate and cutlery

Packing their swimming bag

This is by no means an exhaustive list, and I would love to see the children taking as many opportunities as they can to practise these important life skills. I will pin a Tweet to the top of our class Twitter page where you can post pictures of everything they do to showcase their independence in the comments underneath.

Swimming

We are still having our weekly swimming sessions over at Ash Tree with Miss Harris! These have been a real success and the children are absolutely loving their time in the pool. Keep an eye on Seesaw for lots of videos so you can see how much progress we're making.

Learning Outside the Classroom

We will still be taking the gang out on a Monday for our wonderful sessions of Learning Outside the Classroom. These always help our transition back into the school week and give the children lots of opportunities to work on crucial skills in their development that can often be constrained by the four walls of the classroom. Children will need to wear their own clothes every Monday (lots of layers and waterproofs are always useful to help us tackle the 'wonderful' British weather in Autumn! See the tab at the top of the page for details about our planned trips this term!

For info about all of the learning going on in our classroom this term, please see the tabs at the top of the page. I'll try to keep everything updated as much as possible so you can see all of the wonderful progress your fantastic children are making. As well as this, you'll find links to games and resources that can help to support them at home!

Thanks for sticking with me!

Miss J
