Europa 2023 - 2024
Mr Nightingale
Welcome to the Europa class page!
Mr Nightingale, Mrs Lowe, Mrs Archbold
On here, you can find general info about our class, as well as seeing some of the learning we're up to each term.
I'll do my best to keep it updated as much as possible with links to games and websites that will enhance the learning experience for the whole Europa team!
However, do keep following our class Twitter page, which will be added to more regularly with daily/weekly snippets of what we're up to in (or out) of the classroom.
General info
Times Tables!!
Times tables are so important to many aspects of maths and a solid knowledge of times tables is one of the main focuses in Year 4. Please see our Maths page (click the Maths tab at the top of this page) for lots of links and songs to help your child become a Times Table Champion!
Reading Books
Reading is SO hugely beneficial to all of us, and the more we can read on a regular basis, the better! Reading records and reading books should be brought in every day. Please make sure they are signed and dated and if you have time please comment to show us how they are enjoying their reading.
In Europa, children will receive the following for regular reading:
3 x per week = 1 Golden Ticket
4 Golden Tickets = 1 prize from the prize basket!
Obviously, these little incentives are there to encourage the children into dedicating some time to reading.
However, the BEST thing we can all do is remind children everything that reading can offer outside of this:
knowledge
mindfulness
escapism
understanding of the world around us
emotional maturity
creative imagination
PE
For Spring term, our PE sessions will be swimming on Wednesdays. Please can children come to school every Wednesday wearing their sports kits and with their swimming kit.
The Europa Team
We are so lucky to have a wonderful group of children in Europa this year who bring fun, energy and massive amounts of hard work every day! They're awesome!
