We will also be focusing on counting in steps of 2,3,5 and 10.

In Year 2, the children are constantly practising number skills. We are improving our knowledge of place value and the number operations. We are also learning new skills each week.

Below you will find links to some of the games that we use in class and some new ones to try at home. Please encourage your child to play these games, but also support them or play with them to ensure the best learning opportunities are had.

Have fun!

Topmarks A brilliant resource for all areas of the maths curriculum. Use the links to choose a topic in Maths to practise. Most games have different levels of difficulty, so check which one is suitable for your child. If you are not sure, begin with the easiest and work up in difficulty.

Snappy Maths  This website has a mixture of sheets to print and games. Choose an area and scroll down to the games sections.

ICT games  Games that we use regularly in class and that are very easy for the children to access independently.

NRICH have a number of challenges that you can solve with your child (the children will need adult support to complete these). They challenge logical thinking and problem solving. We are stage 1 Lower Primary  (some are quite tricky!!)
