Trip to Debenhams

Date: 3rd Nov 2016 @ 4:31pm

On Wednesday the 19th October, Pandora and our special visitor for the day Ben the Bear took a trip to Chester city centre to have a look at the shops and get a better understanding of a department store. We got the local bus to the centre and worked out the correct amount of money before personally handing it to the driver. When we got to town we went to the market, everyone was so friendly. The fishmonger showed us all the fish, and even their teeth! The lady on the dairy stand gave us some lovely cheese to taste and the butcher showed us how the meat got changed in the machine.

On the way to Debenhams we found a shop that had the same name as us! We were very excited about this! We also met a traffic warden who told us all about his job and reinforced our knowledge on Stranger Danger and reminded us that a stranger in a uniform is the best person to go to if we need help.  On the way to Debenhams we talked about the different shops we could see and what we could buy from there. The children were giving brilliant answers.

When we got to Debenhams it was all ready for Christmas and the children had a great time looking around the shop. They even found a department that was similar to theirs. We had a shock when Ben the Bear went missing in Debenhams, but luckily he had been super smart and gone to ask for help from someone who worked in the shop. We were very relieved to get him back!

Everyone really enjoyed their time in Chester and learnt lots about what a department store was.  The children could all name something new they didn’t know they could find in a department store and once again their behaviour was brilliant. Well done Pandora, you are superstars!
